Barry is a seasoned character actor who began learning his craft at Montgomery
Blair High School during the mid 60s under the tutelage of Richard T. Pioli.
He worked with Roger Meersman at Maryland University and with David Hevella
at The Madison Repertory Company. He spent two years as a working
actor on the West Coast and has performed in the Washington area for more
than 25 years. Some of his favorite roles include Virgil Bliss in
Bus Stop, Brian in The Shadow Box, and the Reverend Chrispsparkle in The
Mystery of Edwin Drood. Barry feels most at home on stage or in front
of a camera or microphone. You are invited to listen to his demo tape on
this web site. Barry is happily married to a Washington-area actress, Martha
Cashion Abrams. When they are not in the same production, they enjoy
coaching each other and supporting each other’s work.
